LIBRARY POSITION—CHILDREN’S AND YOUTH SERVICES
Bell County Public Library District has a vacancy for Children’s and Youth Services Librarian at the Pineville-Bell County Public Library, 214 Walnut Street. Responsibilities of this full-time position include, but are not limited to, designing and presenting developmentally appropriate programs for youth of all ages, writing and disseminating publicity for programs and exhibits, community outreach, preparing reports and statistics reflecting youth service activity. Assist customers with locating materials and using library resources and equipment, answer reference questions and work regularly scheduled hours at the circulation desk.
Applicants should have experience working with children; excellent writing skills; proficient skill in use of computers and the internet; possess general knowledge of children’s and young adult literature. This position includes day, early evening and Saturday hour work assignments.
Candidates must be able to pass a background check; have a valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to community and continuing education meetings and workshops.
Educational requirements are a minimum of two years at an accredited college or equivalent work (4 yrs.) experience in a public library and must obtain state certification requirements within a five year period. Salary is dependent on qualifications and experience and includes excellent benefits.
